Christie Valihura earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in both studio art and graphic design from Keene State College and received her master's degree in art education from the NH Institute of Art. Licensed to teach in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire, she has been instructing art for the past decade in Lexington, MA at an after school enrichment program, as well as acting as an itinerant elementary art specialist.

Christie has spent time studying art in England and teaching art in Spain. She is a member of the Hollis Art Society, participates in community art shows, and has shown her work in the gallery on West Pearl Street in Nashua. Her current medium of choice is mixed-media and she enjoys the freedom she finds while creating textural abstract paintings, but she has also enjoyed working in animation, puppetry, photography, drawing, and crafting. Christie enjoys sharing her passion for creating, using imagination, and the arts with her students, and works to promote her students' confidence and artistic styles through self-awareness and achievements.

  • Carole Gleeson

  • Co-Founder of The Enrichment Center

Carole Gleeson is a co-founder and director of The Enrichment Center. As a mother of three inquisitive boys, she is always looking for ways to pique their curiosity, which inspired her to start The Enrichment Center @ 2nd Nature Academy. Her goal is to make science accessible and relevant, and to help everyone realize that we are all born scientists and explorers. It is this philosophy that underscores all the classes offered by The Enrichment Center. Carole enjoys working with students as they experiment, question, create, and innovate.

Carole has a B.S. in Biology and Community Health from Tufts University. She continued her studies at Harvard University where she obtained her M.Sc. in epidemiology and immunology. She recently received her M.B.A. from Babson University with a focus on Entrepreneurship. Over the past 20 years, she has worked in the medical device and biotech industries where she held various positions in consulting, R&D, Clinical, Medical, and Commercial groups.

  • Sean Claffey

  • STEAM Instructor at TEC Lab

Sean joined The Enrichment Center as an instructor in the summer of 2015. Sean plans and leads 21st Century skills-based technology classes. His interests help create a range of indoor and outdoor classes, from engineering (electrical/mechanical/software) to archery, games of wit and skill, machine shop, hosting Minecraft servers, art, and indoor and outdoor LARPing.

Sean has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Daniel Webster College and industry experience in fluid system engineering from time working at GD Electric Boat. At Daniel Webster College, Sean was a teaching assistant for Statistics & Dynamics, as well as a Machine Shop aide/tutor. He has worked with the Boy Scouts of America as a summer camp counselor and taught archery to younger scouts.

  • Co-Founder of The Enrichment Center

David is a co-founder, STEAM course planner, & instructor at The Enrichment Center. His goal is creating courses that are fun while students also learn a broad range of critical 21st Century skills. His career covers a host of potential coursework: Scientific MFG/PD/R&D, Software Engineering (the human genome project, robotics), Sales (negotiation & debate, project management), and more.

David holds a degree in Biology from the University of MA at Amherst under the mentorship of Distinguished Professor Lynn Margulis, a Masters in Information Technology from Harvard University School of Extension, and a diploma in Brewing Science & Engineering from the American Brewers Guild. David is co-founder of a beverage manufacturer in planning for downtown Nashua.

  • Dominque Boutaud

  • Instructor at The Painted Turtle Art Studio

Dominique Boutaud was born and raised in Nice, France. Since her childhood, she has been passionate about a variety of art, inspired by nature and the vibrant colors of the French Riviera, as well as her artist father. Both formally educated and self-taught in numerous techniques, Dominique has produced expressive works in many medias, including pottery, leather craft, bookbinding, quilt making, basket weaving, and much more.

In addition to her local work as a New Hampshire Arts Advocate Leader, Dominique has exhibited and studied with many artists from around the world. In her own words, Dominique’s mission as an abstract artist painter is to “create artwork for a quest of meaning, authenticity and expression of hope, serenity, peace and happiness for me and others for our future.” Most recently, Dominique has become a certified OMA Dementia Facilitator and has founded a business, Healing in Color, with a mission to bring outlets for artistic expression to sufferers of dementia.
