February Vacation (2/25-3/1)
Animation Alive!: Combining Scratch Jr. & Sculpture
- Ages: 6-8 yrs old
This STEAM Fusion camp, in partnership with The Painted Turtle Art Studio, strives to engage both the “left” and “right” brain. Join us as we learn how to bring original, colorful characters to life through coding and sculpture! Painting and 3-D building techniques will be demonstrated, and each camper will have access to an individual computer. Campers will be introduced to coding via Scratch Jr. before going on to build sculptures out of balloons and papier-mâché.
Sculpture Alive!: Combining Coding & Art
- Ages: 9-14 yrs old
This STEAM Fusion camp, in partnership with The Painted Turtle Art Studio, combines art with technology as we will be creating sculptures to interact with coded computer programs. Create a papier-mâché guitar and actually hear the notes played on the computer! Our week will be broken up into two segments. During the first portion of the week, campers will build sculptures using balloons, papier-mâché, and conductive materials. The latter half of the week, campers will enhance their coding knowledge with Scratch to create their own program. Our final day will fuse the two together and students will be able to control their program with their sculptures!
April Vacation (4/22-4/26)
Minecraft Builds Come to Life
- Ages: 6-8 yrs old
This STEAM Fusion camp has been designed in partnership with The Painted Turtle Art Studio. Turn your in-game Minecraft builds into real life sculptures! Join us as we delve into the world of sculpture-building. Students will learn techniques for building their own sculptures out of found materials and plaster and take their designs to the next level by building giant versions of them in Minecraft! By the end of the week, not only will students have their own sculptures to take home with them, they'll also have created their own Minecraft sculpture garden.
Intermediate Stop Motion Animation: Armatures & Set Design
- Ages: 9-14 yrs old
This STEAM Fusion camp has been designed in partnership with The Painted Turtle Art Studio. Take the next step in advancing your stop motion knowledge and join us as we create posable characters from wire armatures and design sets for our stop motion videos. Build the internal skeleton and external appearance of your characters, and use them to make your own stop motion videos using Adobe Premier to show to your friends and family. Projects will be saved to our YouTube Channel where it can be easily shared.
