Vacation Week Camps

Our S.T.E.A.M. mini-camps offer fun learning experiences throughout school year vacation weeks, as we get the creative juices flowing in science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics projects.

Winter Vacation 2018

  • Monday, February 26 - Friday, March 2

Programming Python

  • Ages: 10-14
  • Hours: 8:30 am - 4:00 pm (5 days)
  • Cost: $350 + $25 registration fee*

Python is a programming language specifically designed for ease of readability and, as such, is a great way to introduce students to the wider world of coding. It is used in many applications, from web and internet development to scientific computing to business applications. While veterans of coding languages such as Scratch may quickly recognise some of Python’s constructs and layout, the format is simple enough that even someone with little to no experience can understand it fairly quickly!

This full-day camp is split up with multiple snack, recess, and lunch breaks to make sure we get plenty of fresh air and play to balance our work habits in the lab.

What to bring:

  • packed lunch
  • snacks
  • refillable water bottle
  • seasonally-appropriate outerwear (e.g. snow pants, snow boots, mittens, hats, etc.)
  • rubber-soled indoor shoes

Spring Vacation 2018

  • Monday, April 23 - Friday, April 27

STEAM Fusion: Green Screen Puppetry Cabaret

  • Ages: Group A: 5-7 (Kindergarten and up) | Group B: 8-12
  • Hours: 8:30 am - 4:00 pm (5 days)
  • Cost: $350 + $25 registration fee*

April vacation camp has never been so exciting! This camp seamlessly combines art and technology by teaming up with The Painted Turtle Art Studio. Campers will be offered art intensive time to focus on their puppetry creation station, and then rotate to learn how to infuse their sets with green screen technology, enjoying a full day of STEAM fun. Organized games are led by teachers during recess break, and students will enjoy making new friends and memories.

(Puppetry projects will be a mix of hand and rod puppets with simple marionettes. We will create a cabaret style of puppet shows throughout the week and allow students to come up with original scripts.)
