Studio & Grounds
The Painted Turtle is nestled within The Nature of Things academic campus, the idyllic site of a former 18th century dairy farm. Consisting of 39 acres of pristine land in south Nashua, NH and Dunstable, MA, the grounds also abut roughly 700 acres of conserved and protected land in both municipalities. With fields, forests, ponds, wetlands, and a working farm, our grounds are the perfect place to draw artistic inspiration from our natural surroundings!
Our studio is located in the first LEED Platinum Certified non-residential building in New Hampshire, which was also awarded the 2010 Lean & Green Building Award from Business New Hampshire Magazine. With gorgeous woodwork from the post-and-beam ceilings to our hand-hewn worktables produced with lumber off of the property, sustainable and locally manufactured cork flooring, and large windows that let in ample natural light, our colorful studio perfectly complements its outdoor surroundings and provides the perfect setting for artistic exploration.
